All of my furniture is one of a kind. If a person is interested in commissioning a piece of furniture, they may contact any of my galleries or I may be contacted directly. I have a tremendous respect and obligation to the galleries who represent me, so I ask that if a prospective client has become familiar with my work through a certain gallery that they contact them. In any case the price remains the same whether a piece is purchased through a gallery or directly from me.
The commission process can be simple and fun. If a client lives locally, I like to have them visit my studio where they can see what I do first hand and we can discuss what is needed and desired in the piece. Then I do a very simple and quick concept sketch. If I'm on track with what the client wants, the next step is a more detailed drawing that specifies materials, colors and price. At this point, a fee is charged which, if the client decides to proceed, is applied to the final cost of the work. Often there is a back and forth between myself and a client until everybody is happy and then I'm off to work. Again, if a client lives nearby I encourage them to visit and see the work in progress.
I enjoy working
with people on a commission basis and when the work is completed the pleasure
and delight of the clients are an important and satisfying reward for me.
